Amy Bates "You Can Do It" Hits NYT #1

"You Can Do It" is an inspirational story based on the life of author Tony Dungy's little brother, Linden. Growing up in the shadows of his football hero brother and science-minded sisters, little Linden feels lost because he hasn't found his purpose in life. In this story Linden learns that "it" can be found if you "trust God and dream big!" Linden's moment of truth comes when he visits the dentist, and there discovers what he was meant to be.

Of Amy Bates' illustrations, Kirkus Reviews writes, "The large format highlights Bates's attractive full-color illustrations, which depict the close-knit, loving African-American family with warmth."
