Prii, a charming, optimistic adolescent girl, must travel through the Woodlands to complete her ancestral initiation. This year however, the Woodlands are different. A recent storm has disturbed the depths of the forest, twisting ancient paths and awakening dark, forgotten creatures. On her passage Prii will discover the complexities of the forest as well as herself, and challenges she could never have imagined.

Prii Hawthorn comes from a long, respected line of Healers; caretakers of ancient botanical knowledge and listeners of the forest's secrets. As Prii approaches adolescence she must retrieve seeds from the Great Oak, marking her passage as a Healer. The journey will reveal her understanding, her intuition, and her connection with the ancient forest. The forest may test her, but it will also guide her, if she’s willing to hear it.

Eager to prove herself, Prii will stumble, be knocked off course, and inevitably find herself lost. Forced to seek help from the forest, Prii must utilize her knowledge and gifts as a healer to find her way. She is not alone though, the forest watches. Prii will encounter others - some sly, some kind, some cursed and she must decide who to trust. Her path also fated to cross with a long forgotten creature, a Troll. Disturbed from its den, it has been lurking about the Woodlands. Prii can only make it back by listening, adapting, and staying rooted in her teachings.

In the end, Prii finds her way not by conquering the forest, but by humbling herself to it. She completes her initiation by making choices made in trust, patience, and kindness. Her change comes from an understanding, allowing her to emerge more fully herself.
